Fundraising Tips
With such a small team, Dreamflight relies very heavily on fundraisers and supporters to raise the funds needed. Whether big or small, your fundraising makes a huge difference to a Dreamflight child.
Getting Started
Set yourself a target. Here are some examples of how your fundraising could help:
- $20 pays for a child’s Dreamflight rucksack
- $40 buys a child ice creams in all of the theme parks we visit during the trip
- $45 pays for a child to spend a full day at a waterpark in Orlando
- $100 pays for a child to spend a full day at a Walt Disney World Park
- $230 buys a transit seat, used for transferring children from wheelchairs onto the aircraft or theme park rides
- $370 covers the cost of a full day at Discovery Cove (including a swim with a dolphin) for two children
- $580 funds a full day on Dreamflight for one child

Online Fundraising – tips for a great fundraising page
- write a compelling story – include your reasons for supporting Dreamflight
- ask a close friend/family member to be your first supporter – other supporters will follow the amount of the first sponsor
- explain why you have chosen the target and what it could pay for (see above)
- share the page on your social media and ask your contacts to share it
- update the page regularly to show how your training is going/how the event is shaping up/how you did on the day
- use great photos (we can send you some official photos)
- send your page out just before the event, on the day of the event and just afterwards
- consider a paper sponsor form too – pin it up at work, your local bar or your gym!
