Beyond Dreamflight
We know that Dreamflight provides the opportunity for children to develop independence, build their self-confidence and gain a new outlook on life. Many Dreamflight children return from the trip and start to look past their illness or disability for the first time.
Beyond Dreamflight is a scheme to give Dreamflight children further support to fulfil their full potential when they return home. It provides an opportunity to apply for some of that extra support that the young person needs. This can be by:
- Providing funding through a grant
- A volunteer giving a child some more support
- Making a referral to the right charity or organisation that can help them
Evie
Evie was awarded a grant from Beyond Dreamflight, so she could purchase a printer and other supplies to help with her fabulous Shine Bright Bundles initiative.
Lauren
Lauren is a keen basketball player. Her family raised funds to buy a new specialist wheelchair and Beyond Dreamflight provided the shortfall.
Daniel
Daniel came on the Dreamfight trip in 2016 and his dream was to become a professional racing driver. Beyond Dreamflight helped by providing a grant for the safety equipment he needed.

Beyond Dreamflight - FAQs
In order to be considered under this scheme the individual:
- Must have taken part in a Dreamflight trip as a child in the five years before the application is submitted
- Must live in the UK
- The support should help the young person realise their potential, whatever that might be
Also, it must not be something a statutory body is obliged to provide, or that is easily obtained elsewhere
Medical professionals or Dreamflight volunteers who have a relationship with the child and family, can apply for the support for the child. We cannot accept applications from families directly.
Dreamflight Trustees meet four times a year and assess each application on a case by case basis, then take financial decisions where needed. Applications need to make a compelling case for support, and explain how Dreamflight’s help will make a real difference.
Please read our guidance notes notes and complete our application form outlining the child’s needs, support required and the difference it will make. If you’d like further guidance or have any questions please contact office@dreamflight.org
