Impact

We know that Dreamflight provides the opportunity for children to develop independence, build their self-confidence and gain a new outlook on life. Many Dreamflight children return from the trip and start to look past their illness or disability for the first time.

  • Over 6,200 children have been on their Dreamflight since 1987
  • 192 children are supported each year
  • $2,033,816/£1,566,038 was raised (in the UK and USA) in 2019-20
  • Dreamflight is helped by 200+ regular volunteers
  • In all of the recent Paralympic Games, the medal-winners have included former Dreamflight children

Dreamflight builds confidence for many of the children who come on the trip. To hear from a few of the children please watch this beautiful video filmed during the recording of our Fly Away song:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fR-J25dUEY

Beyond Dreamflight is a scheme to give Dreamflight children further support to fulfil their full potential when they return home. It provides an opportunity to apply for some of that extra support that the young person needs. This can be by:

  • providing funding through a grant
  • a volunteer giving a child some more support
  • making a referral to the right charity or organisation that can help them
